At the Mass, which was organised by Peter Ko, John Liu read the scriptures, Lawrence Wan (1966) read the eulogy by Winston Chu and Alex Wong (1969) spoke of Fr Deane's funeral in Ireland. Eugene Ha (1974) reminisced Fr Deane as a person who taught us how to value freedom through valuing self discipline.
Fr Simon Lam spoke about the attributes of ‘Fear of the Lord’; ‘Self-discipline’; ‘Courtesy’; ‘Gratitude to the Alma Mater’ and ’Ready to help others in need’ being the St Louis spirit.
He further said that those were Fr Deane’s spirit as well.
