A Report on Father Deane's latest conditions and life in St Joseph's Centre, Ireland

The Trustee, Fr Deane Foundation Fund Trust

One of the Trustee's directors Theresa Lee visited Father Deane in late April.

  1. She met an Old Boy Andrew Au and his family who went from the US to visit Father Deane.  Andrew will later post his report of his observations and comments.
  2. We are lucky to be able to negotiate with the carer to provide a 5-days/week service to Father Deane - in particular to help him walk a bit everyday, to place dinner order at the nursing home kitchen for Father, to help him with his meals and to provide assistance for his basic day-to-day needs.  Special dinner orders are necessary as Father needs more protein to go with the medicine he is taking for his Parkinson's disease so as to keep the confusion side-effect to a minimum.
  3. Chris and Bosco continued to visit Father Deane regularly. ( These visits took them one and a half hours one way.)  When they are there they usually take Father out for lunch, mostly Chinese  meals which Father enjoys.
  4. A bank account has been set up in Ireland to facilitate movement of funds from the Trust to Ireland. Chris and Bosco will operate the account on behalf of Father Deane.
