When his conditions worsened, Fr sometimes behaved childishly.  He was on the top of a waiting list to another nursing home.

In the new nursing home, Father had a fever and  kidney infection. He was weak and had to be fed. He was later admitted to the hospital and discovered that he had septic arthritis on his leg. He was in hospital for a week.

To prevent him from falling, he was confined to a wheelchair, locked behind a table, as there was not enough staff in the nursing available to walk him frequently.

Dec 1999

With help, Fr managed to walk a little. A carer was hired to visit him for 2 hours twice a week.  After a few days and he became a bit happier. Father seemed to be settling down and he also appeared to be a lot better.
