Dear Theresa,
For a change today I have only good news! First of all we get you a nice flat in Markstown district. ......
The strange part of it is, the owner, ........ was at college with me and is an extremely nice man (like most of us engineers!!!)
We have booked the flat for you from Sunday 23rd May until Monday 7th June (i.e. you'll be leaving on the 7th). It's an easy drive to Our Lady's Manor and not difficult if you have to go the extra distance to St Joseph's. I will have an up-to-date Dublin street directory for you and will show you the way to go.
We were visiting Fr Pat today and got the bill for the massage which we paid. There were 10 sessions from 1st March to 1st April costing Pound 250. Do you think this is too much? We asked if the therapist would continue to treat Fr Pat at Joseph's – the sister thought she would but will have to ask the therapist herself.
Today Fr pat was much better than the last few time we visited (possibly because he had a massage this morning?) He was cheerful, made lots of little jokes, and communicated quite well. Also he did not do anything childish in the restaurant but seemed to get a bit tired towards the end.
Sr Mulcahy said she tried to make appointment to have Father's pacemaker checked. They asked for details of the pacemaker and she gave the details they have on record ……………. They then asked 4 questions but unfortunately I lost the piece of paper they were written on. I shall get them again from Sr Mulcahy. As far as I remember three of the questions were:-
1. What rate was the pacemaker set at
2. What pulse was the pacemaker set at
3. What are the indications of deterioration of the pacemaker.
As I said I shall get the exact questions again and let you know what they are.
So, Theresa, we hope that you and your family are keeping well and look forward to seeing you at the end of May. As I said on the telephone we're not likely to go to England until after your visit and any trips we make in the meantime will be short ones.
With love,
Chris and Bosco.
