Dear Theresa,
Thank you for your fax and good wishes. We had a great holiday in both Sri Lanka and in Hong Kong but are glad to be home for a rest and to get back to normal.
We visited Fr Pat today and took him out to lunch – He looked fine, was very glad to see us and to have the outing. Though he made an effort to be cheerful he seems more unhappy with life in the home – He talked about being on his own, not having anybody to talk to not being able to protect his things – His mind drifted frequently too.
It seems that Father has broken several telephone and keep breaking the wire connection to the wall plug and that they now bring a telephone to him when somebody calls.
........
We thought that Fr looked a bit thinner again so we must bring the scale to weigh him the next time we go. Also we noticed that the dishes and bowls for fruit etc were all missing from his room and we had to go looking for a vase for flowers ….
