I called Winston this afternoon about your ideas and sending your documents to him. We have a brief discussion over the phone about the issues. He is very interested in the strategy I suggested to you when you called last time, ie "St Louis Old Boys in Australia invited Fr Deane to visit Australia for a few months (Staying in a Nursing Home). If Fr Deane likes to stay on, then convince Salesian Provincial to allow Fr Deane to do so. Because why change (?charge)" This would take care of the difficulties/loss of pride that may face the decision makers.
Winston said he will talk to Fr Deane about this when he visits Ireland if Fr Deane wants to leave Ireland. I think Winston is instrumental in the arrangement. He will send the copies to and involve John Po as well. Obviously, SLOBA will be the source of finance for the move and possibly the subsequent costs. Meanwhile, may be Old Boys in Australia can discuss feasibility and make preparation for this.
