Dear Alex
Father Deane is settling in quite well in Our Lady's Manor, Bullock Castle, Dalkey, county Dublin, Ireland. (Tel: 353-1-2806993)
At present he is sharing a room with another patient. He was used to having his own private room in Hong Kong and so is not too happy with this arrangement. I hope he can be moved to a single room as soon as possible or to pay off the other bed in his room so he still can have a room of his own.
The nurses are very good to him and he is getting used to the people and surrounding.
The current arrangement with this nursing home is only temporary on a month to month basis and there is no long term commitment on either party (the Salesians and the Nursing Home). I hope a permanent arrangement can be made with the Nursing Home so he can stay there and not having to move to another Nursing Home. It will be a very traumatic experience for him to have to re-adjust to a completely new environment and people again.
Since Father Deane's arrival in Ireland, he has not been invited to any Salesian House and he has not set foot on any Salesian ground. .........
I hope the old boys will from time to time send him news of your activities and your families. He treasures all your support, friendship and love.
Regards,
Yours truly,
Theresa Lee
